K2 AI was founded in 2023 as subsidiary of the Media Press Group, the European market leader in media metadata provision and software systems. Born out of the in-house AI team, we realized that many machine learning use cases that we solved internally were problems shared by our clients as well. To serve them best, execute fast and combine the provision of solutions with consulting and research know-how, we created K2 AI.

Coming from a Computer Science background, he turned his passion into a dynamic career, spanning roles from programmer to founder, president, and managing director in several IT companies and startups. His unique blend of technical and business skills has made him a leader capable of turning visions into reality. With nearly 20 years of operational experience, Maciej is a world-class architect of change.

Jonas Petersen

Managing Partner

Jonas Petersen holds two Masters degrees, from both Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge. He honed his product and strategy skills by working for several European mid-sized and startup companies and excelled during his time at Boston Consulting Group, a global top-tier management consulting firm. Known for his passion for collaboration and a relentless entrepreneurial spirit, Jonas thrives on working closely with individuals to achieve shared goals.

Aleksander Obuchowski

Head of AI

Aleksander Obuchowski has served as academic lecturer at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology and is a Forbes "25 under 25" honoree, recognized for his contributions to Natural Language Processing and machine-aided diagnosis. He contributed to the scientific community by publishing several high-impact academic papers and a book on prompt engineering. Aleksander is a serial entrepreneur who excels in challenging environments.

Rafal Fagas

Head of Computer Vision

Rafal Fagas is the father of the largest metadata management software system in Europe which processes more than 50 000 images weekly for over 500 companies. He has managed engineering teams of size 100+ and is a leading expert in Kubernetes, OCR solutions, tagging, and several other computer vision techniques.

Rafal has 30+ years of technical experience and a deep understanding for software system architectures which he routinely conveys in senior management meetings.

Philipp Petersen

Member of the Advisory Board

Dr. Philipp Petersen holds a PhD from the Technical University of Berlin and pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Vienna, specializing in deep learning for numerical analysis, and neural network theory.

As a member of the Advisory Board at K2 AI, Philipp provides senior strategic and technical guidance. His expertise fosters innovative approaches.
